Zillow, valuable site for buyers and sellers but ....

Many agents do not like Zillow. I am not going to argue about it. My personal opinion as a broker is that sites like Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com empower buyers and sellers rather than misinform. Granted, there are a lot of “mistakes” on Zillow, for example. There are a lot of confusing information for uninformed buyers and sellers as well, such as posting of “foreclosure” listings that appear to be available for purchase to a site visitor. In fact, many are in “pre-foreclosure” stage that may or may not lead to actual foreclosure and availability for purchase of the property on open market. However, with this said, Zillow and Trulia are great aggregators of information and education for buyers and sellers alike. They do not claim they are accurate. In fact, just a little more digging around Zillow website will lead buyers and sellers to a pretty nice table where Zillow discloses that Dallas Area has the highest percentage of error on their  home value “zestimate” than any other metro area in USA. Knowing this, site visitors can still benefit from information, photos and advice from others while keeping a skeptical attitude towards Dallas area home values on Zillow.
